Directives by Poojya Gurudev

  • Try to achieve a mental state of 'I am nothing, I have nothing'. Whether a king or a commoner, everyone on this earth came from nothingness (शून्यता) and will go back to it. Thus, why the ego! Aspire to be egoless (अहंकार शून्य) thoughtless (विचार शून्य) and achieve the param-atman or the ultimate nothingness.
  • Once you achieve the state of nothingness, lead a life on the path shown by your Guru and perform your worldly duties without getting attached (अनासक्ति), then at the time of leaving your body, you only carry the thought of your Guru or Guru-sthan(that is Shoonya) and leave all bondages behind. As per Param Poojya Gurudev, a person who is able to reach such a state is called a good person (अच्छा इंसान). Strive to become one. Constant Self analysis(आत्म-विश्लेषण) and self control are essential tools to grow on this path.
  • Guru is the ultimate shoonya and thus remember him not in his human form but as a divine avatar. Remember him with utmost and unwavering dedication, faith and reverence. Guru's blessings are beyond time and space. Only when we remember him with a simple, selfless and sincere mind, we realise the true essence of his blessings. These blessings destroy the sense of "I" in us and lead us on the path of nothingness. Thus it's the Shoonya energy in the form of a Guru that leads us back to the Shoonya.
  • Be like water, simple and fluid. Adjust yourself as per your surroundings. Reduce yourself (your ego) to smaller than the size of an atom so that you can become one with your surroundings.
  • Become diligent while inculcating the attitude of serving others and become empathetic towards everyone. (कर्मठ, सेवाभावी, संवेदनशील).
  • For those who have got Deeksha in Kriya Yoga to follow the practice of Kriya with complete devotion, this will help them achieve self-realisation. For others, follow the path of Bhakti with complete faith in their Guru and the divine.
  • To fulfil one's responsibilities towards their Guru-sthan and serving the Guru-sthan is equivalent to serving their Guru.
  • As per a famous quote of Shree Ramkrishna, “জীবে দয়া করে যেই জন, সেই জন সেবিছে ঈশ্বর”. It means to have empathy and to serve the other life forms on this earth is the same as serving God. Poojya Gurudev directs us to imbibe this principle into our lives and in order to help us achieve that, he founded the Daridra Narayan Sewa Trust. Be a servant to this world with a feeling that we are serving the almighty.
  • Poojya Gurudev has established the temples of Dwadash Jyotirlinga, Matri Mandir, Panchvati Tapovanam so that the devotees can stay connected to the Ashram and regularly involve themselves in Bhagwat Sewa and Aatm-Sewa and grow on the path of spirituality.
